Today We Joined Tree Sisters (8 November 2017)

Today we officially joined the Tree Sisters team! For every item purchased we will be supporting the planting of one tree somewhere in the world. It has always been our intention to use Lotus Tribe Clothing as a vehicle to promote social change and help the environment and we are incredibly proud to have partnered with this amazing organization.

TreeSisters is a global network of women who donate money to fund the protection and restoration of forests worldwide as a collective expression of planetary care. To learn more go to

When you plant trees, you are directly cleaning the air. As a tree matures, it can consume 48 pounds of carbon dioxide per year as it turns that CO2 into parts of itself. It also releases enough oxygen to supply your needs for two years. These two effects help to give the earth a healthier climate.

I'm such a treehugger I even named my first son Forest, because even then I knew what the world needed was more forests. Long before I was aware I had "a thing" for trees, I was adorning my home and clothing with them. Soon enough, the theme became obvious to myself and anyone who knew me. I literally love to be in their company. I think they are beautiful and appreciate them for their beauty as well as their usefulness. The largest tattoo on my body and is a grand Mother Tree and is symbol of my personal growth, the roots I hold dear and the branching out in the life I have lived.

Tree lore stretches back into our earliest symbolic imaginations. The Tree is a common universal, archetypal symbol that can be found in many different traditions and cultures the world over from the earliest human records. Trees have long been part of a spiritual motif and frame work, from the Tree of Life to the Bodhi Tree that Siddhartha found enlightenment under. Trees are used as sacred shrines and places of spiritual pilgrimage, ritual, ceremony and celebration. Sacred trees are found in the Shamanic, Hindu, Egyptian, Sumerian, Toltec, Mayan, Norse, Celtic, Wiccan, Pagan and Christian traditions.

We will continue to honor the majestic trees of the world through our Tree Sisters donations as well as our own designs of clothing and jewelry.
